Hi all, I'm interested to buy a dvd camcorder. But once its recorded in the dvd. Can it be edited? I'm buying it purely for my mum, just shoot then play in the player. thanks for the input.;)

Hi

Just to take note on dvd disc and Hard Drive Video cam. They used AVCHD format. When come to editing you may have some trouble on codec edit or output. Sometimes only audio is on screen no video???

If you plane to just film and playback NO problem

What is AVCHD?

AVCHD so far is for HD format only, you still can buy cheaper SD format camera which use DVD for recording and playable in DVD player. But make sure your DVD plaver can read those mini DVD. I remember Sony one can select in 2 modes, one mode is can direct play on DVD, but cannot delete scenes after recording, while the other mode allow you to delete scene you don't want, but need to convert in PC before you can play directly on DVD player.

You might want to check the Camcorder Ratings of various brands. The expert reviews can help you choose the right one.

Good luck.
