Today I tired playing with the Sony UX7E. Took 2 clips about 1min each on my mini-DVD-RW took about 10mins to finalised the DVD. Put it on a Sony Blue-ray player, cannot play. Try on a Pioneer Blue-ray (that one that cost 2k+) with a Pioneer plasma can play. Haven't have time to really see the video very well but from the first view it looks very good.

Have anyone else tried play AVCHD on other Blue-ray players or its just that the Sony player cannot read the mini DVD-RW or i should have tried with a Sony DVD-RW? Or did anyone used the dvd writer of sony to write and after that play on their blue-ray.

Next few days I hope to have a chance to try on the new panasonic XD5.

One more thing i seen some good reviews on the panasonic SD5 but i when i tried to play back on a 46inch plasma I notice there is a lot of noise (grindy). Was using a 512mb sd card. Was wondering that if i change to a 4gb HCSD will have any different. maybe my SD card is too slow.

Up todate,AVCHC format still have some flaw, it will leave some trail on fast moving object & also not forgetting noise issue that affect day or night shooting.Even the best video maker sony & canon are facing these problem. HDV is still the best format to edit & best image, but ony can use tape media.

today try to finalise the sd5. cannot play on both the sony and pioneer blue ray. (sorry my mistake was on xd5 not sd5)

did you finally get videos by the SD5 to play?
I read about this new & small camcorder and its really looks promising ......

For HDC-SD5, tiny size also means tiny intelligence, particularly in still. Although the video quality live up to its mark. The still feature is rather not appreciated.

Sony fairs much better in feature and I guess Canon likewise. But SD5 is certainly champion in small size, weight (among branded ones) till next release due.

still cannot get a hcsd card :( anyone willing to lend me one to try out?
