DSLT A35 & NEX-C3 Announced

Tried both a35 and nex-c3...and feel disappointed.. A35 without the tilt screen :thumbsd:. nex-c3 is so hard to grip with the round grip.

Nice to see so many bros at the launch party! :)

I always feel that Sony designed the NEX for the XMM market. It will look very nice and trendy in their hands :)

Exactly. NEX3 is for the XMM. NEX5 for the boys. :P

Guys, just saw a Sony poster in Akihabara. Official launch of C3 in Japan is 24th June.

Anyone know how do we do a firmware upgrade for A55?

if you registered your camera with the supplied picture motion browser in the DVD, it'll alert you when there are updates when you open the application.

just follow the steps shown to update

Thanx for e info.

Not sure why Sony released a 30mm macro lens. Personally, i feel that the focal length is too short for shooting flora and insects. Any bros have any suggestion for usage of that lens?

I'm currently using a 30mm Macro A lens.

It's a very good walk around lens; can focus from 13mm to infinity.

Here's a few examples.

just my thoughts: I would think of babies portraits, or regular portrait (maybe head shoot) if you and the subject are comfortable at a short distance.

Wah lau. You guys so lucky, got invitation. I bought 2 Nex3 and an A33 and got no invitation.

Why Sony never add lens micro adjustment feature to the SLT firmware update? This will help resolve all the complaints that lens not sharp. It's not like it is difficult to implement. This will help win more customers and help close the gap to canikon.

Agree with insects part, cuz they prob won't hang around :p

but flowers shd be ok rite.. 30mm Macro is pretty good for food (unless it's a badly lit restaurant, cuz F3.5 is not super fast, so gotta push up the ISO) and most stills too (like minatures and toys)

However, at the end, it's all abt the quality of the lens, colour, contrast, softness, etc. At US$250, don't expect Leica or CZ quality lah  ...but if they can really match up ..

Hi Diavonex, thanks for showing your photos taken by a 30mm macro lens.

Hi eqesg, agreed with you that the lens could be very useful for portraits.

If you are using flash to shoot the flowers and insects, I believe the flashlight might be blocked by the lens at such close focusing distance. Nevertheless, I'm eagerly waiting for its release :)
