Hi guys, here are some of the equipment I wish to rent out. Please read the terms and conditions below before contacting me.

1) Canon EOS D30 + BG-ED3 + Ridata 512MB CF + 3 BP-511 batteries + battery charger + CF card reader w/driver cd + body cap
$40 a day

2) Tokina ATX Pro II 28-80mm f2.8 (EF mount) + hood + case + 2 caps
$25 a day

3) Canon Speedlite 550EX (no batteries) + Omnibounce + case
$20 a day

4) Metz 45 CT-4 Hammerhead flash + Quantum Battery 2 + charger
$30 a day

5) Canon RS-80N3 remote switch
$8 a day

6) Slik Pro 700 DX tripod w/cushion
$25 a day

7) Seagull TLR 4B-1 + cap + 6x4.5 plate
$30 a day

Still considering whether to rent out my L lenses... :think:

Please let me know if the rates or terms are unreasonable because this is the 1st time I'm renting out equipment and have no guide to refer to. I'll try to adjust the prices.

i) Must sign a document prepared by me declaring that you are renting from me and that you will be responsible for any damages or loss
ii) Must let me photocopy your identity card
iii) Self collect items at Boon Lay MRT or NTU (or Peninsula Plaza if I'm going there)
iv) Must pay me full rental fee upon collection of items
v) Must pay me a returnable deposit of $100 (in case you run away)
vi) Subject to availability (if I got assignment cannot rent out)
vii) Max. rental 1 day and return within 24 hrs (for the time being)
viii) Terms and conditions subject to change w/o prior notice
ix) Strictly Singaporeans only (NTU student even better, I give you discount)

i would say about $300 to $400.

Suggestion : Price could be cheaper if rented as a bundle, for example 550ex + Lens + Camera Body... $85 for 1 day would be kinda steep..

I feel should be at least $200 deposit, with the amount increasing as the other party rents more items.

However, students can be given special rates (maybe $50-$100 for deposit) provided that the owner feels that they are trustworth enough, i.e. reasonable active in ClubSNAP and better if the owner had met him/her previously during SEED or outings etc.

Why not work out also a special rate for students keen to rent the equipment. I'm sure that there are some out there who just want to give a try at DSLR, some might not even have a DSLR or digital cam yet.

And as mentioned, can work out a bundle rental fees for those commonly required items too.

M humble suggestions:
For conditions:

i) Can send to interested parties beforehand for them to take a look.
ii) Photocopy before appointment to avoid delay

The $100 I mentioned is returnable deposit, not rental fee.

Think you can invest in some insurance also...

The absolute safest is to charge deposit at full or depreciated value of equipment I think... of course this concept probably won't work here lah, but that's how they do it overseas.

More applicable to big ticket items where pros need to use for only short assignments I guess.
