Its not abt how much equipment u have. If it was, then dry cab makers would only be making 50L and above. Its abt providing a proper and safe (from humidity) home for ur equipment.

heh.. if you are hardcore, you would have TWO or more digi cabis.. LOL.. since you are NOT hardcore, get just ONE!

I am a cheapo hardcore then ... have 5 lenses and 3 bodies inside a 23 litre Akarui bought at $98 ... with some extra space for old banana notes ...

Any have good place to share where can I get a dry box for 2 body and 4 lens?

Am currently using a cheap way which is putting my equipment in a large tupperware box with silica gel inside. However, looking at getting a not too expensive dry cabinet but there are just so many in the market all at about $120+ region. Is there a particular brand that is more/less reliable that I should be looking out for?

Am looking to store my video cam, 5N with 4-5 lens.

About a year ago, I paid only $128 for a digi cabi like this at NTUC during promotion
Digihub Singapore - DB-036N

About 2 months ago, I bought another similar one for $178 at Challenger..

Can I check with you the 25l is only 1 layer and not dual? From your pix, looks like it is only 1 layer... For a video cam, 5N and 4/5 lens, is the 25l or 38l sufficient?

U can get the Hercules 25l - no need battery at all - it Full digital - pretty good and small - think now got promotion -118 or less

my Hercules 25l

kind of like it as since it fully digital not those analog basic , the free wave form came in pretty handly

Seems like you ran out of storage pretty quickly! I think my 30l+ will last me for a while as my CO will most likely not approve any more budget for the months to come!

By the way, is there a particular brand that I should be avoiding or are they all the same?

Digihub Singapore - AD-50N

digi cabi is pretty common and as far as i know it works without hassle

Can experts share what is the best set temperature or ideal temperature for my NEX 5N.

It may sounds a bit stupid to ask this questions but I am a newbie in camera and don't know much about dry box.

The temperature is not the concern here , but it is indirectly related as a lower temperature room tends to be dry but that doesnt mean the fridge is the best place to store cameras. Its humidity. The rough gauge is to store your lens in a box with less than 50% humidity level.

The silica gel is re-usable. Just heat it up to drive away the moisture and it will turn to blue again.

Just get a proper electric type dry cabinet. Maintain the RH at about 45% to prevent fungi growth. Secretions from fungi can be very acidic and may etch the coatings and glass causing irrepairable damage. Too low a RH can dry out the lubricants in the camera and lenses.

yes but its such a hassle to heat up the silicon gel when a big bottle is only $5 dollars .... might as well replace it .

always best to keep it between RH 40-55%..

why its hard to recommend u the size.. we dontknow how big is your camera body..and how big are your lenses. Next..we dontknow how u like to arrange or keep your item..some like it spacious..some just squeeze everything in. So it really differs from user to user.

Just make a trip down to the shop..take a look at the different sizes..they have them on display..then u would know..which size/budget fits your need..

I just need a box to put my Nex-5N and it's bundled lens.
Can some recommend me a cheap n good dry box? just to dump in the camera with the lens.
