any user of Dimage 7xx know whether the Digipower DPS-9000 batt pack (as shown in the picture) can now be found in spore?
i've tried asking in AP, CP & a few others last week...

from the Dpreview forum, some users indicated that its is indeed compatible with Dimage 7Hi...

this should be a good add-on since it may solve the battery issue on Dimage 7xx & make the camera appear more solid & stable...

Hah.. I'm trying to look for it here too. Posted the same query as you (But without the Pic) without any answers.

I've asked W Cube if they're be interested in bringing in locally. They said they'll look into it.

Currently am trying to get a friend to help buy from the States. Cheapest I can fine online is US$46.

Nobody seems to know about this wonderful power pack. Its not like its only for Minolta Cams.. just about most of other Cams can be used too !

Hmm, you might want to be a little careful since imaging-resource mentioned that Dimage 7 users might encounter problems:

Well, its probably due to the fact that only top prosumer camera serious users are likely to be interested an external battery pack for extended shooting. For prosumer caneras the main popular contenders are the Dimage7 series, CP5700, Fuji S602, Sony F7x7 and Canon G2/G3.

Here's the breakdown:
S602/G2/G3/F7x7 have exceptional battery life and hardly require a battery pack.
Nikon CP5700 users have their own MB5700 with integrated vertical grip which also improves the camera's handling.

Thus, apparently only Dimage 7x users would be interested in this for the most part.

Hmmm.... Sh*t liau... Tought can stop my spending...but Nooo...something new and good comes along and...i..juz..can't..control..... ~Arggh! *pulls hair*pulls hair*
OK, me interested in this batt pack too, if MO, let me know, Thks;)

That is indeed the concern of most people, Zerstorer...
However according to some users (dps-9000 on dimage 7hi discussion), this might not be the case with Dimage 7hi for some reason. Probably because Minolta has upgraded something on 7Hi. The LCD maybe? :dunno:

Minolta should've make the vertical grip/batt pack for this great cam instead of having the ext batt pack that attached on the belt. And this minolta ext batt pack is not cheap, $400+ at CP, freaky!!!

Probably, since the 7i/7hi seems to have improved battery life. But original D7 users might need to be wary.

Yep, they should have, battery life was one of the major reasons why I didn't get the 7i 6months back. Being able to use my Minolta 5200i flash on it was a strong pull....

Read through related threads from Dpreview shows most, if not all, users of 7Hi using the DPS-9000 have no problems using it.

I agree that Minolta .. knowing what bloodsuckers the 7 series can be.. should have made a vertical grip batt pack instead. It'll look cooler than the stupid sling across your shoulder pack.

Nevertheless, it'll be great to have this on hoildays... one pack to last the whole day and just charge at night. Imagine how many times you have to wake up in the night to change the AAs from the batt charger if otherwise?

Mass order will still be expensive.. best is to get someone to buy from the states to bring back.

AP have a similar battery pack call mobypower.

www.mobypower.com Rated at 3600mah. just bought it today at $160

Battery is already charged when new ( 2/3 LED ) , will test the battery this coming sun. Will revert on the battery.

Understand from AP that the extra battery pack can be purchase , he will check the price for me.

Last week AP showed me the batt pack from Samsung which can be inserted into a holder. The holder itself will be fastened to the tripod hole below the camera, similar to dps-9000. But for some reason I dont like it cause its white and it doesn't fit as nice as the dps-9000 for 7Hi...
