dorge, burn & sponge tool

need advice and tips to use this tool, want to know how to apply this tool without been seen to obvious. hope you understand what i try to ask. i mean to make it naturally.

1. Change the range to midtones. (edit most of the midtones)
2. Change the exposure to 5 to 20% (try and error yrself)
3. Use bigger brush size.

 

[catchlights]

apply on a duplicate layer, change the opacity to get the effect you want,
use fade,
use history brush,
