dop Video Accessories

Anyone care to comment on the quality or value for money of this video rig stuff?

It seems very pricey and my first impression was the build quality was not as good as other brands from the US such as Redrock, Cavision etc at a similar price point. For example, I was interested in the Action Finder for the 5DII but the sample I saw in Alan Photo had a very tacky looking thin plastic Fresnel lens and the plastic housing didn't seem to fit togehter correctly. Maybe I'm just being too picky but for $240/- I thought it could be better made.

Any feedback would be welcome.

for $240 bucks...i rather top up 20 bucks more and get a LCDVF.

Can check out LCDVF at Cathay photo. Think they should have stocks. 1st time I seeing this too!

Come on, did those guys at DOP look at what's available in the market before they 'design' the Action Finder?

If the LCDVF or Zacuto finder V3 is too expensive, there are options like the cheaper Hoodman magnifier.

I might be wrong, but some of dop stuff like the mattebox and lens gear look like a rebrand product from India CineCity , which itself is a knockoff from other brand like Redrock and Zacuto

Then again, there's really nothing revolutionary or original in all this DSLR rig design, so every company rig will look similar at the end of the day

Just make sure the rig is well built enough for your camera when you are on the field. What looks good in the shop doesn't mean work well in the field.

I KPKB here because I was really hoping to see a good product from Singapore so we don't have to pay all those crazy shipping rate haha.

Maybe we have to wait for a version 2 from DOP
