I think the point is not whether the card is slightly cheaper than that in some other shops. The point is they cannot use cheaper price on the paper to mislead the customers and actually sell them with higher price!

They have to be honest! Otherwise they would deserve a very bad name.

And by the way their actual price is not always cheaper than that in other shops. For example, they chargered me the pc2100 ram (512 MB) at S$95, but eventually I got it from costronic at S$88.

Hmmm... sad to hear that :thumbsd:

To all dishonest merchants, dealers, retailers...

BOO!!! ;( :sticktong :thumbsd:

do you mean 2G? from their price list 1G is 46.4 and 2G is 80.9

Yes, for a 2GB Elite Pro, Thx

even if your sandisk memory card got problem, the distributor of sandisk ; http://www.vector-magnetics.com/dealers.html
does not cover it cos active foto not an authorised dealer

it is ture! I just checked the website http://www.vector-magnetics.com/support.html

It indicates that " SanDisk warranty and technical service in Singapore apply only to SanDisk products purchased from local authorsied dealers/retailers"

Sad for those people who bought their sandisk product from active foto! I think Active Foto might go to comex 2006 at this weekend. We should let our friends know it!

Thanks for your information!

Had a similar bad experience with them a year back. Sales person was rude too. Never going back there again. :nono:

I had a similar experienced at active foto last week. bad bad bad ... :thumbsd: :thumbsd: :thumbsd: .. when I inquired why their pricelist does not tally with the price tag the sales person will just tell you that the prices in their pricelist is the bundle price. :thumbsd: :thumbsd:

today I went to active foto to buy a sandisk ultra II SD card but i had very unpleasant experience.

I watched their price from the priceguide for several weeks. From their price list, I found they sell 1GB sandisk ultra II SD card at $48.9 and 2G at $65.9. very good price in singapore. But when I ask their salesman. They told me the 2G SD card is $110 plus, (I can not remember the number exactly), and 1G SD card is about $64. When I showed them with the price list they distributed, they said the price was wrong on the pricelist. But how could they put the wrong price on their pricelist for weeks? It cannot be considered as a mistake.

And when I ask them to give me a piece of 512MB notebook ram, pc 2100 which is S$80 on their price list, they told me that the price was S$95, and S$80 is a bundle price. BUT, they never indicated it on their pricelist, and they are not selling any notebook using pc2100 ram!

IT IS CHEATING!

IT SUCKS!

I hope all the friends visising this forum will not be cheated again by this shop in the future!

I just found that many friends were also cheated by that shop:

To stop being cheated by this cunning shop, please tell our friends the truth.

last night i went to SLS and got their price list.. still showing the same price as above. :thumbsd:

Sometimes we have to b careful and is better to get frm authorised sellers.Even though it cost abit more.
Search online (wikipedia might have) for fake sd/cf cards. They might even sell imitations.

Heh.. looks like their excuse for why their pricelist doesn't tally keeps changing as well... :thumbsd: :thumbsd:

as far as i am concerned, i didnt have any issue of their pricing being overpriced or something.

i do noticed a pattern though. for those wanting to buy memory cards, hang on till the last day of the upcoming comex show, active foto & perhaps best bargain will slash prices like mad to undercut each other. of course, if you wait till the last day, there is a calculated risk that the card that you are eyeing on might be out of stock :(

The worst thing is the sandisk cards bought from this shop do not have local warranty.

I also hv similar experience during e last IT Show too ..... The pricelist from active foto is diff from the what the salesman quote me for the SD card .... bad attitude from him also .. Nv going to buy fr them again

Haha! ActiveFoto? I detest that shop.

Last year during IT Show, I bought a tablet from them... Only cost me $29! Haha! So happy... Go home, it doesn't work at all. Went to the shop at SLS the next day, asked for an exchange, they say cannot. Asked for repair, they say they don't have the contacts. What the hell... I argued with the stupid indian guy awhile, then he just brushed me off. Bloody idiot. I stepped out & threw the tablet in the bin next to the shop.

Now I got myself a Graphire4.

Active Foto sucks. Sucks until Chupa Chup earn big bucks sia...

F9!! F9!!! F9!!!! for them of course!:bsmilie: :thumbsd:

I hope there will be more people know about this thread before they go to Expo this weekend.

Every IT Show, these stalls will be crowded with people. I guess its the pricelists that are used to decorate the booth as wallpaper. It's good cos we can get the same cards at other much less crowded booths for about the same. $1+ savings aint worth the terrible queue and payment handling (wrong NETS card returned).

Most people don't bother much about warranty as most consumer products come with 1 year. Only when the product fails do they realize the importance.

That said , it was nice to have Memory World this time at expo. Got my cards without queuing. Makes me wonder though, they've only 3 pricelists , A4 size. How does that get people's attention ? :dunno:
