The D70 is still king among the D7.... It is 1 of Nikon best production till now, it can capture digital image it any given condition.

TS u gg to use D7k with 24-70 as stated in your signature?
:bsmilie:

Better the cam better the skill? :bsmilie:

Whether a D700 or D7000, both cam still offer "miles ahead" from the skill of photography most people have. Even a D90, most people skill have not outgrow what the cam can offer.:bsmilie:

Spend more on lens rather then new cam in the market.:)

no...i'm using D7k with 70-200 vr2 now. The D7k has no grip at all. :bsmilie:

i really like D700 but due to budget constraint and a likely new model next year, i'll wait. and also since D60 is my previous DSLR, D700 will be too overwhelming for me. i need D7000 as a learning stepping stone to FX.

Hi Baggiolee,

Your Nikon 70-200mm VRII is not cheap though :bsmilie:

This is a super funnny thread....what's for lunch today? ;p

Hi, D7K has a cutting edge over D700 with its 64K ISO but not enough to attract whatever attention needed to bring it to a higher level. The price of D700 alone is sufficient proof that it has more useful features than D7K. Its size and weight provide stability and feel in your hand.
It has a higher learning curve to keep you learning more for a longer time for whatever you want. It cannot be compared to D7K with just one factor of a better ISO 6400 which, though, is roughly a yardstick to measure IQ. More important is the camera's ability to capture ideal IQ in all lighting situations, indoor and outdoor.

lol i prefer to invest more on lens.

wise choice but I don't understand why you have to start this thread in the first place. Especially since you can understand there are lots more things that goes into getting a better photo.

Maybe I use this to compare. Comparing between a much older 911 Porsche and the latest Mitsubishi Evo. Are we gonna say an Evo is a better car than the older 911 because it has the latest technologies in it? Think.... hmmm.....

This sort of things has been happening all the time with things that are technologically driven. It is just that within a span of 2 years and 2 different generation between these 2 camera that we do have a tendency to view as such. However, we still need to look at it such that these are consider really different camera even though they both do the same thing, take photos just like 911 and evo bring you to your destination.

Is is necessary to compare these 2 camera then? If it is to look at how much technology has bring us forward in a single generation, yes. However, if it is just for the sake of vanity and pride of holding a more superior camera.... I will just rather go take photos.... take more if I feel that my photos aren't good enough.

there are other things than the IQ and ISO where FF camera is different from APS-C.

also, i suspect all the unhappy d700 users will brandish the valid point that it is 2 year old technology, maybe the d700 successor will trounce the d7k thoroughly, who knows.

anyways, it doesn't matter, the d7k is close to k-5, for me, the IQ and ISO are definitely good enough as a hobbyist. at the end of the day, i don't even know why so many hobbyists want optimal IQ and ISO when your uses don't even extend that far..

ahahah..I agree totally.. :)

the edge...? no?

How deep is your pocket will also decide what cam you purchase.
End of the day, be happy with your purchase. =D

You can buy a D3X and hang it at your neck whole day if you like for others to envy?
haha take the time to capture a better image rather than chasing which camera is better leh

think this has gone on long enuf to degenerate into another KPT thread...
