Does D200 really shoot 5fps?

Frankly speaking.. I didnt wait for it at all.. Just one fine sunday... My urge for D200 is getting stronger.. So gave lord's a call. He told me got 2 available.. So, i super happy.. Went down and made the purchase....

Hi All Nikon Pros,

I just got my D200 from lord's... However... when i tried to snap simultaneously, it doesnt really shoot 5fps leh.. Its like slower than what i expected.. Any reasons for that? Please enlighten me.

Your D200 should hit 5 fps in CH (Continuous High) shooting mode. But make sure that:
1) shutter speed is above 1/125
2) batteries are charged
3) AF Mode is set to C (Continuous) and
4) AF release mode is set to "Release Priority".

If your AF release mode is set to "Focus Priority", your cam will refocus between shots, hence slowing down the framing rate. Alternatively, you can set your focusing to Manual.

Ha ha... personally, i dont really know the *censored* guy and dont think he knows me either. I *censored* *censored* *censored* coz i havent upgrade my camera for like 4 years already.. So i tot this is the time to upgrade and going to last me for another many many many many years before i can go *censored* *censored* *censored* again.

Most welcome. In fact I recall reading online from some of the more reputable reviewers that the framing rate may exceed 5 fps; ie like 5.2 fps. But that small diff to me is not impt...

Try to shoot without AF. AF may slow down the next frame coz the need to refocus.

either that or u can set the continous to release piority.. its cool.. lol!

FierySnake, your D200 can take video? Mine cannot leh, dunno where the settings, manual also never put. ;p
