Do you use a ultralight laptop when going overseas?

if travelling a lot, then it makes sense.. but personally, idont find any problems carrying either my 2kilo + thinkpad , or even my new macbook overseas... i think maybe its more a woman thing.

i personally dont like ultraportables.everything just too small. and battery life is limited

you can't do backups and edit pictures on them.

Do Backup!? I rather use bigger size memory or bring more and spend more times to take photo while enjoying holiday after back home then do editing pictures. :think:

cos when back home got to start working and studying. i do bring along an extra hdd cum card reader (aka portable storage)

Just like alot pp said no time or too busy to do exercise. Look like is time that controlling us and sad that is not the other way. :sweat:

I'm looking to get a 12" laptop too. But i've already got a 15.4" laptop at home so a second hand one going cheap would be best. Budget would be $600. Anyone know where i can get such an offer? Should be able to do some editing on it though.

well, i dun think so, if not i would be interested too.

the lowest i think a 12.1" laptop brand new would be something like 2K, hence a 2nd hand might be about say maybe half that price (i dunno, just rough guess), and that is talking about the cheapest 12.1". most are about 3-4.5k for that size, and even half price is going to be 2-3k, if the owner is willing to let go at such low price.

$600 may not be able to get that. probably for large models that is fairly working with old components. and editing of photos might be ...... not that smooth.....
