Do you use 3rd party lenses?

If someone happens to be using the Sigma body, then Sigma lens should be 1st party, right?

Heard Sigma body uses their own mount only.

I use whatever suits my purpose. Price, performance, size and convenience are considerations. Some third party or other factory brand lens are not available in the original brand eg sigma 30/1.4, sigma 18-125, sigma 18-200.

Agreed. Wanna try 3rd party, safer to buy with warranty if buying used copies. Else you may have to pay for servicing/calibration/troubleshooting fee should incompat. problems arise.

Only have 1 3rd party. Sigma 18-50 2.8. I love this lens and it was my default lens until I got the Nikon 18-200mm. But still one of my fave.

i think that originals are technically the best, cos they're designed with and for the bodies that the company produces. 3rd party lenses aren't bad and usually cater to those who can't afford the originals... i personally dont own any 3rd party, but if i had to, i'd definitely use em

Currently own Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 EX DG Macro, (I feel its worth it!!! - Only complaint is the thread diameter and the noisy AF, but I can live with it...
Going for Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX DG HSM Macro.... hopefully by 2007..hahahaha I am a poor old man..:bsmilie:

I am with you. Recently, I got a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG (filter size: 77mm). It works perfectly with my 4OD and 1D Mark2.
