used to own a FZ20, so the EVF is a must have as the LCD guzzles up the battery.
Even for macro work, i'll use the EVF as it helps to stabilise the cam.
when i was using my A70, tend to use the LCD more for composing, as it is WYSIWYG, use the VF only when composing for low light conditions.
