Do you find browsing the web on your phone practical?

By practical I mean,
1) the speed of loading a page
2) able to display a page properly
3) viewing on a 3" - 4" screen.

I never really enjoyed using my (old) HTC on WiFi. Opera and IE on it are slow and hard to use.
The latter maybe because I use it only once in a while.

Just wondering if you guys find the newer generation of phones are better for web surfing.
Also anyone using windows phone 7 and andriod can share your experience?

it's just good for the last minute urgent checks on certain sites.

I use Opera Mini on my Android phone, and the results are great. It is snappy, reasonably fast and by far the best browser experience on a mobile phone.

For the moment, my experience on Android phone shows that the Internet browser supplied by Google for Android phone is still the best, followed by Firefox and trailing way back is Opera Mobile.

Try Dolphin Browser.... when compared with the inbuilt browser in my Samsung Tab... its much better.

Using Samsung galaxy s2...it's a breeze! Better yet, there's the infuse 4g with 4.5" screen.

I guess bigger screen is always better but it is a trade off between portability and comfort viewing.

Browsing with iPhone? Yes, only when I'm at rest room doing business there

Brought much more convenience, suffice to reduce the time I spent on the PC
Of course some websites will still give better surfing experience on a larger screen

I always use my phone as a 'mini computer' to do surfing when I'm not near my laptop, but it only sucks because of the small screen, thinking of getting a tablet . I had a Windows Phone 7 phone before, the UI may be smooth and fast but is not my cup of tea, sold it and bought an Android instead, now i'm happy modding my android phone xD

One more question, what was your experience of using your phone as modem for your pc ?
Like most of you indicated surfing with the small screen on the phone is not as pleasant as with a notebook/tablet.
but i'd rather carry a notebook than tablet coz i) I don't have a tablet today (don't want to spend $ now) and ii) typing on a real keyboard is much faster than tapping on the tablet screen for me....

Really added some 'productivity' for me.
No 'down time' waiting for anything now since I can read some news, check out CS and write email.
Of course for screen size larger is better, but its a trade-off that I can live with.

Its not a matter of which is best but in certain circumstance, one is better than the other. Assuming its 3G and not WIFI, the bigger the screen, the worst it is in terms of portability. So if you are mobile with limited space, like standing on a train from jurong to pasir ris, a small phone that can check email or facebook is better than turning on your PC an hour or so later.

Same as DSLR, it is better than P&S but sometimes, P&S is a better choice due to its size.
