I use M1's HSDPA mobile broadband service on my Nokia E51 to surf CS-mobile version - Very fast. Other than that, I also use SingTel Broadband on Mobile 2Mbps on my notebook - Pretty decent speed when stationary. On the move like for instance in a taxi or train, it might be a bit slow.

There's a mobile version?! Gimme!

no problem on mobile broadband for surfing but agree its bit slow for youtube. but then again it depends on location and network loading. if u can find wireless sg, the speed is definitely faster than mobilebroad band. its free...

I beg to differ. Most Wireless@SG surf points nowadays are terribly slow. :(

using Starfug 1mb at home no problem. at work vomit blood.

main issue is the connection strength which is very easy to DC.

thinking of subscribing to mobile broadband to use at workplace for surfing.

looking at Singtel 1Mbps.

anyone using it to surf clubsnap?
comments/ review?

thanks. :)

1Mbps is quite low, but sufficient if you are just up to some regular browsing checking forums and email, make sure you have good reception at the locations where you are planning on using it. How much traffic is included? Can't use it a lot if you just have 500mb or 1gb a month free.. But that will depend on the provider, maye something with 10gb or more is on offer.

I'm using 1Mbps Singnet Mobile Broadband and it's fast enough for regular browsing, even downloading of stuffs. Usage per mth is 30GB which is abt 1GB per day. For an hour's browsing on average u won't even use 100MB unless u stream lots of videos on youtube for example.

Even though, it's enough.

Can you stream with 1Mbps?

thanks everyone!
snoweagle, that was v helpful. :)

i've registered online for the 1mbs plan, waiting for them to contact me. ;)

I'm using StarHub's MaxMobile ultimate (7.2 Mbps) on my Touch HD. It acts as the HSDPA modem and connects my Laptop to the internet. This is my main mode of connection as I'm on the road 90% of the time and I connect to my office network with this setup. I have no issues so far and occassionally the signal strength on the particular area comes into play.

using singtel's 1.5mbps student plan 17 bucks a month 50gb usage but more than enough and quite stable ;)

I using Singtel BBOM (1Mbps) to surf CS; no problem.

So far so good and only $11 :)

occasionally surf with my singtel bbom...

I have given up on Wireless@SG - often difficult to get connected and then, slow and frequent drop-off.

At places like McD, I often see people surfing with their own little white usb-stick. Mobile broadband is getting very popular.

I got the Maxmobile - works very well for me. BTW, I only use it once or twice a week only.

I also given up on wireless@sg. Not only slow but sometimes have connection problems even though shows full strength, frequent disconnects and keeps logging me out on forums like here.

In the end got mobile on broadband for my laptop/netbook and last nite also signed broadband on mobile for my mobile phone online.

Starhub also launched the 21Mbps mobile broadband recently. I wonder how fast will surfing be with that hahaha...

Imagine wireless surfing speed faster than many residential homes' wire.
