it is never too late. i caught the bug with two hand-me-down slr cameras. i was twelve then. i have been at it ever since.
age is not the factor here. more important is your passion of this hobby.

Seriously, I know of a 60+ year old learning computer programming, so what's the big deal about photography? A lot of people pick up hobbies later in life when they've got some financial stability and can indulge in their fancies, and their maturity helps them do a good job of it too.

Thats why ppl want to see a portfolio, ask to go for interviews, etc. although there is no age limit per se, but the portfolio, experience, and confidence to become a professional takes time to establish (some quicker than others).

I don't think there is any practical age limit to photography, as long as the ability to use a camera (hands, legs, eyesight) is there.
Photography is all about fun! If someone finds photography enjoyable, age should not be a barrier.
