To all the film users out there... I was just wondering when shooting Color film do U do pp ur photos? If so isit it better to shoot in digital? :dunno:

Anyone?

I don't unless it's to tough up hairs and dust or to crop. I like them just the way they are.

Maybe just to cover-up some dust & pimples...:bsmilie:

At times I do.. To adjust the "WB"..

I put my photos through lightroom only, seldom ever need to do photoshop work on them. Mainly do WB, contrast adjustments, dodge & burn, dust removal, etc in lightroom, no need to go into photoshop at all.

The question of whether it's better to shoot in digital is subjective and will bring about a long debate over the two. Just try out both and see which you prefer. Some people like to machine gun away, some people like to take it slow. Depends...

yes, i do. Even the great Henri Cartier Bresson do it.
No matter how you pp a photo,
the look of a photo taken by film & digital still looks different.

I just leave it as it is whatever the result.Like originality.

Do you cook your food before eating?

Some people like steak raw. Some people like medium. Some people like well-done.

Just "cook" your photos to your own liking.

Very well said haha.

i do PP my film photographs to get away dust and strands of micro hair.

Then again, no matter how you PP, digital and film still looks different. just a certain way u cant explain but you see, you will know. So in a way, digital is still not a substitute for film in some areas.

to a certain extent ...

my workflow:

1) Rating system in Adobe Bridge CS4 to help eliminate bad photos
2) Flawless, 5 star photos will be opened up in camera RAW, retouched to remove dust spots if any
3) Grayscale/duotone/tritone conversion in Camera RAW
4) Curves, split toning in Camera RAW
5) Color enhancements in Camera RAW

my ideology .. take great photos, and if they can be better presented or more visually attractive with enhancements, go for it

i don't believe in bringing flawed photos back from the dead :nono:
