I have not seen the original Sony grip but it is suppose to be designed as per original.
If you like auto switching, you will have to pay for it though.... spend more $ or spend half the price for one without the switch.
I'm not referring to auto-switching... I'm referring to the duplication of controls on the body of the camera on the vertical grip... for the A900, the entire suite of buttons on the rear of the camera body is duplicated on the vertical grip... If what they do is to duplicate the oriignal A200 grip, then I would think that they could simply duplicate all the controls. From the website, the battery contacts looks similar to that found on the original grip... and I believe those contacts also contain some form of communication channel for the buttons on the grip...
