Do I still need the 50mm?!

Not too sure on the faster AF and better coating. I always thought D lens focus faster.

1) Just how i feel when i tested my D against G side-by-side before I sold my D, i may felt it wrongly but at least i test it and not heresay. so at least you cant fault me for assuming right? haha :D

2) G has Integrated Coating, dont think D does.

3) G uses aspherical elements, I dont think D does, not even the 1.4G.

4) Also better build quality.

5) Nicer bokek even the same 7 blade

well this 7-pages long review is the one that convinced me to upgrade it.

I find 1.8D focuses faster than G. More consistent in sharpness too! G has a nicer bokeh though. But I chose D because of the consistency it offers. I find that G has a smaller focused area than D at 1.8, and I had to take the same pic a few times before I get a real sharp one.

Dun get me wrong bro, I'm not totally disagreeing with u. It's becos i personally tried the sigma 50mm F/1.4. Felt that it's a very solid lens. Which makes me feel that the sigma will be a better upgrade than the nikon 50mm 1.8g. It's like upgrading from D90 to D700 instead of D7000 you know? :p
