Just you know, it's not just guys who are into MotoGPs... :thumbsup:

I wasn't shooting her, but more of the entire scene behind instead - this image was heavily cropped...

Okay, test your Nikkor knowledge - what lens is that? (not difficult) And DSLR body? I presume one of the entry levels...

Looks like a 70-300VR

I guess 70-300G + D5000, but we'll never know, will we? ;)

Both you and DD about 70-300G / VR is for sure correct. D5000 or D3000 or D3100 (even the older bodies) I can't tell... I don't keep track of bodies... lolz.

70-300 VR, the markings on the lens are different from the cheapo 70-300G.

yeah, like you I can't really spot the difference between the entry-level bodies esp from the top. D3x00 series mode dial has guide mode. Can't see so clearly from the uploaded image.

Looks like a VR version to me... I forgot that there was a G version (non VR). G version can extend to that long as well? What about the shape of hood - same as VR version? According to the visuals at Photozone.de (after comparing), the fully extended shape with hood resembles VR version.

yeah I had the 'G' before. Sold it because the CA quite scary with backlit subjects.
It looks very similar to the VR from afar. Hood looks same too (I think).

Looking at the catalogue (ahem, Nikkor Bible version 2010).. the "neck" of the G lens is very short as compared to the VR. "Neck" as in the stretch after the F-mount, before the long rubber ring. That's why I think the image above looks more like the VR version...

ahhh ok...
So this is the 'fat neck' VR lens then ;)

Latest Nikonrumors indicates Nikon may relocate some of its productions/operations from Sendai to Malaysia leh...

Wowz... looks like all MIJ camera brands will be affected by the evacuation notice...

Wowz... i didn't know Nikon makes "L" lenses... :confused::sweat:

Maybe trying to "sucker" in Canon users...

You know har some of these scopes when coupled with a DSLR can bring in 12XXmm at f/21? Got images to prove its effectiveness... lolz
