yoz

how's everyone??

reporting in from reservist :p

Yo bros, (P7000 n LX3 users) I have a question to ask... Have you tried shooting to the highest ISO level that's acceptable to you? Meaning, at 3200 are noise minimal? Comparable to D90/D300s' 1600 or 800?

Then will be
"too shaky too shaky!!" :)
kekekeke

Oh no worries, by then it will be strictly monopod usage... :bsmilie: Either that, time to start pumping iron... This week alone, I'll be using the bamboo twice... (school "projects"...).

if well-exposed, the correct answer is "what noise?"... :)
When we meet up you can test it out :)

But to me it's not so much the low noise, but the amount of detail captured.
I don't go beyond 800, chiefly coz I haven't found the need to.

haha very "damaging" de....
wait krieg jump into the FX tooo :p

Thanks for your feedback. I'm still considering now weather to cross over to FF or crop (future upgrade)... currently, D300s is speedy, but D7000 has a larger image size and better ISO handling. D700, while the speed is sufficient and ISO level better, the image size is still based on 12MP... and will lose out to crop factor in terms of reach...

My upgrade now depends on future releases of D400 and D800...

then why look at D400 or D800 when u know u are going to be FX :p go to D3 straight :p:devil::devil::devil:

Not necessarily... i'm contemplating 16MP versus 12MP, and Crop versus FF.... Plus future ISO handling capabilities of both DX and FX...

Har? I already think 12MP is overkill :)
If I had my way, would ask for 8MP, 3fps and greater dynamic range + d3s iso performance :)

actually 12mp is gd enuff when u frame the shot nicely and dun crop.

any extra mp is "useless" when u dun print large printout. - technically...

Still clueless whether FX will meet my needs... Currently, I'm trying to look at a model that will deliver A3 size quality images (magazine)... If D3s still can't do it.. then might as well wait abit longer... Not that any of my images can make it lah... but good to look into the issue before realising too late...

12MP overkill? Can it fit into a A3 size print or not? A4, 12MP confirm no problem... A3, 12MP is a tad smaller... unless you stretch the image to cover the 5mm "bleeding" on all sides as well. Technical issue...

A3 is 17" x 11", right?
At 200dpi that's still well under 12MP wat.
