what u mean is that i can't shoot too close to the subject even it has a very short mfd? does yours have a focus shift when shooting at extreme close up?

Yes, but only very slightly. The focus shift goes away if I stop down to F2.

You need to understand AF sensors. and how the actual sensor looks like... (it is not really shaped like that rectangular box of a focus point).

That is why I said, you really need a focus chart to be sure.

Very difficult to answer your question, coz "we" means whom? If me, then I will say that 70-200 is not really necessary. But I can understand why kriegs would want it.
