Lets set the date and time first, easier to get ppl to confirm :bsmilie:

1830, venue to be confirmed.
We can take some photos when the sun is going down, then makan and tcss(beware of poisoning from certain people :bsmilie:) All are welcomed!

1) Jeezuinn
2) Skylover(added your name in for you)

on the 6th that wk will be abit hard. as i need to "entertain" my external auditor. they will be here for that whole wk.
then if touch wood got any finding, will have to make magic happen. haha

qns GND
if we are using the filter without the holder will it cause any vignette?

for ND i think need a holder etc else it is going to be tiring.

Bro...there is a slight chance that you might accidentally hit the front of the lens with the filter...the GND is made of resin - chance of permanent scratch is very great. And to reduce flare...you do need to place the filter very close to the front of the lens (safer with a holder). Any small minute scratch will render the flter useless (cause irreversible flares)... this is how fragile those resin filters are. Handheld is possible but very risky. I wouldn't even risk it on mine, would you?

It's best you get the holder to hold the filters.

those large size filters are quite expensive, so it's a bit unwise to risk such an item by saving on the holder. I don't think the Lee holder is the only one in the market, but I've seen it and I think the quality is

For 100 X 100mms, Lee, Hitech and Singray. Please scroll a page or two back, we have stated the price for Lee holder/ring. I can't remember exactly how much all the different types of filters cost. I've bought hitech 0.9GND and it costs 90 bucks IIRC. Lee filters costs a lot more. Drop by TK, they can fill you in for Hitech filters. Go Cathay for Lee. Nobody carries Singray here.

Sure, in that case I'll include myself to the list. But I'd suggest pushing it to a later date. :-)

Without you going, no fun - I can't do Markins dance on my own I'd look ri-donkey-lous! :bsmilie:

Cokin Z Pro holders can fit 100x100/150mm.. and they are a fraction cheaper than Lee/hitech holders - however nobody carries them locally and I can't vouch for the holder's build/quality as I've never held them in my hands.

Anyway, 100mm filters naturally costs more because they have a wider surface area. To top it off, the quality of the ND themselves justifies the premium. However, the trade off is that they are made of resin (more prone to scratches), unless you go for pro-glass which is 2 to 2.5/3 times more than the resin counterparts... And the pro-glass range is very limited - mostly NDs.

As ZCA also said, filters aren't cheap - why risk it without a holder? Even if you're on Cokin/Tianya - would you risk holding them and then keep buying them when they are scratched?

hahaha but I'm not some big-time VIP... Don't need to postpone an outing just for my sake. There'll be another occasion for sure.
You guys try to arrange and see when most people are available.

I'm out on the 8th

Who's postponing? We haven't really even made up a date yet! JZ's date is only a suggestion - hence it could be from this to 2 or 3 weeks later right?:bsmilie:

Yeah lor... more TCSS / THSS than shoot'n. If shooting it's probably more at the dinner table poisoning ourselves silly with each other's lenses... :bsmilie:

I cannot, I'm on the 10-24 routine... please pick another number! :bsmilie:

Hehe you guys can fight your dance over dinner table!

Frankly, without DD123 going, NONE of us can be qualified to do a 11-16 dance! :bsmilie: Unless of course you, Smiles88 or Skylover (if he decides to make a clean sneak) decides to jump in on one soon...
