Dear fellow Redusers,
As of July 16th, 2014, I'm sure you've all noticed that the price has decreased tremendously from $4,499 to $2,999.
I'm sure you're all wondering, "Why would you decrease the price???" I asked the same thing! Is there going to be a compensation in quality? Is it because we didn't sell enough? Fortunately, the answer to those questions are, no.
The quality will only get better, not only through hardware, but also through the ability to update the firmware.
The Ronin had an introduction at NAB 2014, we made a short film introducing its capabilities of holding 16 pounds of industry standard fully loaded Red Dragon setup on many different platforms all in one shot.
So, why? Why did the price diminish that much?
Well, we were originally expecting monthly orders of potentially 200, instead we got way over that worldwide, enough for us to turn down more pre-orders of the first month, and enough for DJI to manufacture the Ronins on a high quantity level, which ultimately resulted in much lower price of material.
Knowing and speaking to the Ronin Sales Manager as well as Paul Pan, the Product Manager behind the product, getting the Ronin in the hands of both industry professionals and indie amateurs shouldn't be a challenge, everybody should be able to afford the smooth shots of the 21st century.
