well, for a start, Canon's cable release for 10D is RS-80N3 while for 300D (and my EOS50), its RS-60E3... obviously, there's some difference...
the guy in dpreview did it for his 300D, which I presume the cable socket is for a single jack as shown in the pic (same as my EOS50)
the cable socket for the 10D has 3 pins, which I really wouldn't want to force a single jack in...
I already have my RS-80N3 some time back.... the good news is, I don't have to get one for my EOS50

u want to activate the focus(half press) n the shutter button(full press), u need 2 switchs, the switch i refer here is the small button on the nokia earpiece, so u need 2 of it to be connect to the circuit to be connect to the common neutral grounding.
