don't have to switch on NR, it will slow down image processing time.
for night photography, iso setting should be base iso.

Hey!! im also holding onto a 1mth old D90! :D
And its also my first DSLR~
With regards to NR, i also nvr turn on when i took my night shots
And with ur shots, seems like u can reduce the exposure by abit imo...
I like #4, no PP meaning the light and dark parts were created by the lights from the tower itself??
But u might wan to cut off the tree peeking out at the bottom of the tower

Yes Alvin, #4 lights in picture comes natural from the surounding. Only thing i did was crop more visible trees below. Decided to leave that small part of the tree so the tower doesnt look hanging in the air from no where. Haha.

All shots were tested from 20s - 30s at F9 / ISO200 / VR off /with tripod and 2secs timer. Doesnt look that shape. I wonder setting to "lanscape" will that helps on the sharpness or simply need to use software to sharpen it? are my pictures Noisy?

i dun think ur photos look noisy ah... but since ur using such a long exposure u shld reduce ur iso to 100
and for sharpness, can't really tell from the photos.... i need a bigger photo to look at hahahaha
but from wat i read, juz zoom all the way in and focus manually either on the viewer or in live mode, then zoom back
