how on earth did you manage to get the mirror dirty in the first place? it took me waaaay over 6 months to achieve what you seem to get, even then, i only had one big speck of dust, not the apparently "terok" case you have...

I can't understand too!.... Had only 1 change of lens after the change....I usually keep my 28-105 on

you have lens cleaning paper right? just use it to clean the mirror as you will with camera lenses.
anyway, like sehsuan said, cant understand why your mirror can be that dirty in just 3 days (seems pretty dirty base on the way you had written)????
Lens cleaning paper I heard scratches the mirror eazily.....

Duh! That might be dust in the prism or behind the focusing screen instead of the mirror

I sure hope not!

You need to be careful as some abrasive dust may cause more damage if you try to rub it off. I suggest you buy a lens cleaning kit. I just bought one from CP which comes with the dustgrabber. It is a stick which a slight soft tip and it 'grabs' even the tiniest of dust specks. This ensures that the dust is picked up and not rubbed over the surface. You need a steady pair of hands too. Good luck! :)

How much?.... do I just ask for a lens cleaning kit that comes with a dust grabber?

come'on, all the fuss for sth that won't even affect the pict quality?
hey, what's taking it so long.

Affect quality or not also have to take care of equipment..... especially the optical aspect of it....

I prefer to have Canon clean the sensor, it only costs $20, but it's worry-free.

Wat strong blower do you recommend?.... i have the conventional type that didn't work.

I sent it back to canon once b4... they recommended changing the mirror.... after 3 days the dirt came back.... i think they'll recommend the same again...
any other suggestions?
CP does sell stronger blower.

you should take note how does the dust got there. How do you change your lens? Change in the dusty area?

Anyway my camera mirror also have a dot ( dust ) and it does not bother me. ;)

if it's dirty you'll see it in the view finder.... specs on picture is the cmos that's dirty... if u dun see then there's no prob loh
:bsmilie:

says who? in order to check the dust on sensor, IMHO set the aperture to smallest like f22 n shoot at bright sky then check again from the picture u got... viewfinder does not always show u the dust ok...

if the problem persist, it's better to find the root of the cause.

one i discovered a relatively large speck of dirt on the viewfinder... turn out that the body cap was chipped and the plastic just broke into very small pieces of dirt.

If it is true, will you still use the lens paper to clean you lens?

Ok... i'll go check.... good point.... :bsmilie:

I went back to Canon, they check it out and use a presurized blower to clear the dirt from my focusing screen for free. Just want to add, the service person that served me was a babe... did a good job....did not get her name though.

Anyways, thanks everyone that tried to help or responded.

How do you guys like this picture?

Yes, got it for abt $30 (It's a made-in-usa kit). I left my Nikon lens for too long without changing the silical gel and I saw this spidery thing on my lens. I had tried to clean with a LCD cloth but to no avail. But the kit works like magic. The glass is now super clear. You can see Steven at CP.
Hope this helps :)

I think I know which one you're refering to. She's the one sitting at the other end. Long hair, fair skin, pretty face, nice body.

I change lenses on every holiday trip, but never notice my sensor getting dirty. I guess I'm lucky..
