There's a wide angle adapter for the Z1, it's the Minolta ZWC-100. However I was trying to get reviews on this but not very successful. Dun seem to have too many ppl using it. Tried posting on Dpreview.. kenna ignored.. hehe

I've just got an e-quote from Cathay Photo:

Z1 = $620 excluding GST, free 64mb SD card, card reader and tripod.

Good Deal?

U might want to factor in the GST first. 4% is quite a bit. Also next year GST is 5% ok not 4% anymore.

Did you try getting an e-quote from MS color? Since there were in Sitex for Minolta, they may have a better price. When I bought my A1, the price difference between MS and CP was approx. $60. I bought mine from MS. Maybe its because they have committed a certain amt of stocks from minolta and therefore have a better costing.

Hi there. I've just read the review on Z1 by Steve's. Noticed that the aperture is just f2.8 to f3.5. I may be wrong but isn't this not so good when taking scenery shots where it's good to have bigger depth of field?

Can anyone advice on this?

Hi there. Pardon me but I don't get what you mean. Care to elaborate further?

normally, only the maximum aperture of the lens is stated. you would need to check the specs or try out the lens to find the minimum aperture. a f2.8 lens doesn't mean that the aperture is fixed at 2.8.

the maximum apertures at 5.8 and 58mm (35mm equivalent: 38 and 380mm) are 2.8 and 3.5 respectively. you should have no problem setting to a smaller aperture (eg f8 or f11).

Hi iceman. This really cleared quite a bit of air for me. Thanks alot! :)

Has anyone tried taking pics with this cam with ISO 200/400? Is the noise bad at the higher ISO?
