did i just get a fake expoamigo?

I am very positive that the ExpoAmigo Pro Jigsawman's selling is real (I've seen the pics in the MO thread), so Jigsawman you don't have to hold back your stock on that.

However, I hope you can provide me with the details of which shop you get small expoamigo, those with straps that have no URL, from as no shop should be holding on to the old stock anymore. So I can get the distributor to verify and vindicate your name.

As an authorized agent, I have to protect the name of ExpoAmigo. The distributor alerted me that there was a cancellation of order for 30 small expoamigo and 15 expoamigo pro intended for Singapore market and no news from the buyer after that, we've been tracing the order from all our participating stores to no avail, so it's not a rumour.

In fear that fake expoamigo ruin the reputation, I was instructed to alert the users. I don't want to see a case where people used a fake expoamigo and said it doesn't work as expected, so I took a precaution to warn potential users.

It just puzzles me why soon after I made the precaution, now people are wondering if they get the fake. I maintain the claim that all expoamigo should come with the strap with URL printed on it. To check my credibility, please log on to www.expoamigo.com, it has been updated with my information and my claim.

Cancellation of orders does not meant the buyer found the "fake" Expoamigo.

What make you think he got "fake" ?

There is no such company or corporation in Taiwan that were incorporated to sell so call
expoamigo, if anyone can read and understand chinese please check on some taiwanese
photo forums, you will know it's just a DIY project which was started a few months ago.

And all of a sudden, a few individuals starting selling in some Yahoo auction etc.

Jigsawman don't get so worked up. It's not solving the case. My question is where is your source of getting the goods?

As ExpoAmigo_pro said, ExpoAmigo has started as a DIY project so the company is not incorporated yet. Patent pending as well.

I do intend to go to retail shops to promote it after I go back. So you can rest assured.

I doubt Mr Jigsawman will want to reveal his source, no businessmen will will do it unless there
are benefit. But since he have lost some business unless there some compensation.

my own experience is that these white balance discs all give a very cool neutral colours, which personally i dont prefer.

i think theres some recommendation if u want a warmer look to use a blue marker on it.

Colors lines will affect the white balance.

The reason people pre set the white balance using the Expoamigo is because there are many small transparent dots on it. If I am not wrong, the materials are acrylic which as very good optically property. So pre setting the white balance using the expoamigo, will actually set the balance closer to the ambient environment.More natural color or rather pictures will be displayed.

So even a blue or red lines on it, will affect the setting when u are adjusting it.

People say blue line, make the setting more warm but I have not tested yet.

Perhaps there should be a thread talking about the feeling after using it.

Instead of saying what is fake and what is real.

Think along the line of complementary colors. Red will give you more green and blue will give you more yellow.

There're NO 'real' or 'fake', just some individual wanted to protect their new found business.
It's the same old acrylic sheet that can be found easily.

Most important is the 'ideal' work or not? If it going to help you with your WB then great!

Yes, as what I have said in my MO, if you have gotten an old acrylic sheet but you paid the price of expoamigo for it, then it's individual choice. As long as the filter perform up to users' expectation, why not. I just don't wish to see a situation where one uses an old acrylic sheet but complains about expoamigo. It's not my intention to accuse who's selling fake. I was just raising awareness amongst potential users.
