Did I get cheated?

Hey guys. I have seen quite a few photos online and am now considering whether I should get a fisheye lens. Which is better? A fisheye, or wide angle? And also from the sale of my electronics and savings I still have about $300 left. Is there anything reasonable for add ons? Well, I don't want to get scammed again ):

buy a dry cabinet.

How about a budget holiday? Can't go to Thailand now though. :(

yes of course.

this life, only can really trust yourself. at the end of the day, make bad buy, it's your fault. not the shark salesman, not the xmm who was distracting you behind the shark salesman, not the cat that you were stroking...

for small ticket items i don't mind so much, also won't get chopped too much since there are rough ballpark figures you can follow on clubsnap.. just give or take $5 can close one eye. for large ticket items, i always make it a point to call all the shops, compare prices before i go and make buys. SOP.

Oh yea, definitely. The salesman are making a living too and some of them may be commission based.

They offer a price, wanna buy or not, is still up to us. :)

Unless they use hardsales, then immediately, they fall onto my blacklist.

Yup, eventually, i didn't pay the best price for all the items for my brother's setup. I lazy to buy this here and there, i pay a bit bit more to have a peace of mind and save time.

Somewhere else. :bsmilie:

Hey forum! I recently bought a canon eos 550D and a lot of my friends said I have got myself swindled....Please help): I'm kinda lost right now.

Why not start enjoying your 550D, go out & take some nice pictures, and read the 550D manual which is both informative & interesting. I'm new too & my 550D is my 1st DSLR which I have enjoyed using for about 2 months now.

Put your mind off the amount spent; when you want to buy your next item - a flash; another lens - then be reminded by your experience to check the price. Lots of info available online to countercheck. I've benefitted from good insights here at CS and other equipment review websites.

Hope you don't take it that I'm preaching; just encouraging you to enjoy the camera you've set out to buy in the first place & not too worry too much about a not-so-good start.

BRgds :)

first lesson in photography, learn to let go. from getting cheated for not doing enough homework when buying, or missing a kodak moment cos you got distracted somewhere... :bsmilie:

dont start your photography journey by sowing the seed of unhappiness, cos you have a long way to go, try to let go. show us your photo and tell us the enjoyment you got from your new found equipment. that will be the right attitude!

i look forward to your posting in the gallery & welcome to the world of dslr!! :)

indeed i agree with many in before me: they earn alot from the extra "must buy" stuff.

EOS bag and one 8gb is the standard package that Canon give out.

lesson learnt, you cant change much.

do your research in future and not be cheated again when you get your future lenses and stuff...

Unlucky Plaza for you then :p

LOL aye nice pun. Nah guys, I'm not angry! Just feel stupid. Yeah searching for items now. And no, I'm 15. I can't go on a holiday now. Thanks for the advice ;) Will start shooting properlyonce my results for the exams are out and then further improve my skills!
