Tried to register but DeviantArt refused saying that somebody on my ISP (SingNet) is on their blacklist so they blocked my registration.

yup being trying for 2 years...still can't register.

Perhaps you can register outside of your house? Try NLB or your friend's house. 2 years, wow. ;)

I used to use deviantArt but got quite tired of it.. I admit that it's a great tool to set up your gallery and there are alot of good photographers there who would give constructive comments. However, haha I decided to switch to i.ph recently.

You can set up a blog there and also a secondary photoblog. For me, the blog was useless, so I just set up for the sake of it (you need the blog first before you can have the photoblog) and I never update it.

The photoblog, on the other hand, is really idiot-proof. It settles all the html stuff for me. i.ph has a very sophisticated interface though it requires some time to get used to it. The photo blog is simplistic, which I really liked. Unlike deviantArt, it doesn't have the favourites thingy, watched by feature and blahblahblah.

Okai this sounds like an advertisement, but nevermind. i.ph has some bad things that could be improved on. Like publicity. I wish more people knew about i.ph. ;p

but there is a darkside of deviantart..if you guys dont already know..

They can only do so if the intention is to promote devaint art's stuff. Third parties cannot use your work commercially just by downloading it off DA. If they use it in that way its problably because DA has some sort of deal with them, in that case you dont have much of a choice. If the third party wants to use it solely for thier own commercail purposes(nothing related to DA), DA is supposed to notify you of thier intreset and the negociations slhoud be between you and the third party..

Thier licene agreement has been under fire for a long time now but we all know there is no free lunch. What other place provides such an extensive community to share your pics/art for free with virtually unlimied space? If you were that concerned with copyright issues you sholud set up your own portfolio site :)

I have been there long enough to see all the major changes and will still be there as i have built up quite a network ;p

Just my $0.02
