developed help

I bought 800ft of these last time. But have decided to stay with black and white. You can PM sweat100 to see if he is willing to sell you some of his chemicals or not, he shoots these as well

the problem is I don't know how to developed myself :-(

You plan to try these film or plan to shoot with it for long term? If you are shooting for long term, i guess the best way is to develop it yourself. One of the major issues is the remjet (carbon) backing layer, which will clog up photo lab machines. If you develop youself, you can manually wipe off the coating before (recommended) or after developing. I do have some of the ECN-2 chemicals, if you would like to try processing yourself. All the best! :)

the film is my Taiwan friend let me try, if like he can help me buy on Taiwan and send to me.but I don't have any experience on developed film(cuz just start shoot film not long), b&w also don't have (but less shoot b&w).for I know is color film more difficult then b&w film developed

hi

don't worry, if you think it is very diff, it creates an obstacle for yourself.. why not try self dev bw film first, and then after a few tries, u can try the color film..

sometimes it is good to be more positive..

sweat100 self dev color slides at home using fuji e6 chemical (6 bath), and i also dev a few times using Tetenal E6 (but it is 3 bath, so it is easier), many say temperature is important, but still i manage to get the slides developed, and i see no color deviation.. we both use manual method, no machine control of temperature.. so it can be done by all.. it is not that difficult..

but it is very time consuming.. and dirty.. this is something i hate

bw ? u got all the stuff needed?

it will boost ur confidence if u watch some youtube on how to do it.. i dare not try E6 at first until i saw one youtube showing how he did it in his kitchen.. but for your special film, i think u definitely need sweat100 help, bcos i dunno what he meant by "remjet (carbon) backing layer" .. he really rexplore alot more.. i am content with those mainstream stuff..

what stuff I need? any recommended?
is 135mm and 120mm same technical?

You can take a look here for a starter kit to B&W developing C h i i f C a m e r a s - Developing B&W Film

The tank that you can buy from Ruby will fit both 135 and 120 films, no worries.

I've been doing my own B&W for 3 years and started E6 last year, not very messy if you plan ahead, it is fun though.

We did have a E6 developing session last year, not sure when is the next one but most likely we will announce here, you can join us for our outings (under MF/LF section) too for more tips and tricks on developing.

hi hui ling

i am not sure if u can predict your future, if u can, u may wan to buy a larger tank so u can dev more rolls per time, assuming u using same film (hence same time and temp. ) .. so u must know in future u will shoot more or u will shoot MF... etc... so far all my predictions never come true...

and u may wan to buy HC 110 as developer.. bcos when i go ruby last year as a blurr sotong, i just buy whatever they tell me to buy.. i end up buying Ilford DDX... which is not bad, except that HC110 can save u more $ and it can be kept longer.. my DDX is now brown color

Haha I also. Omg. Felt so scammed. Anyway I quickly finished up all of my DDX cuz it turned yellow. :x

I'm not sure more or less, cuz sometime 1day 2-3roll, sometime 1month 1roll, sometime few months 1roll ><
but just now search on net, have one guy say 1time developed 2roll will be better!

Ya. It will be more efficient in terms of chemicals. For the AP tank, I have to use 375ml of chemicals for 1 135 roll but only 650ml for 2 135 rolls.

Do the math. Developing 2 rolls at once is
Much more cost efficient. Perhaps if you only shoot one roll per week, you could develop every weeks or maybe even once month? Usually I would develop four rolls at once of If I can, reusing the developer twice and the fixer up to 15 times.

I don't usually keep my mixed developer for more than 2 weeks for the risk that the developer might become inactive and the uncertain developing time

chemical and cost aside, the other more important valueable thing is TIME!!! time is precious!!!! hehe

is all new for me! thx all for the information! I know developed we-self is the fun for shooting film^^

must learn how to developed already! if not next time go back Malaysia I die (I'm for Malaysia)! Malaysia developed cost very high!
