Deleted thread?

Hi

I posted a topic in the Review forum about a review I did on the Canon 7D2 yesterday but checking for feedback this morning it has been deleted with no explanation given?

Last time I posted a review someone suggested I add a summary of the review into the post here so people could decide if they wanted to click a link or not. I did that this time around.

Could someone look into why my post is missing please?

Thanks

Polite bump hoping someone can look into this please?
I'm wondering if there was a posting error on my initial review thread or something so there's been no admin response yet :)

All reviews are automatically placed in moderation upon posting by the system until the assigned moderators vet it and approve it.

You might want to check out the guidelines on posting reviews to see why your post has not been approved yet as of now.

You can also see how other reviewers write-up their review threads for a guide on what works and will likely get approved.

Thank you and have a great day.

Thanks for the reply - it seems my review was approved (because it appeared on the main site and a friend confirmed this) only for it to disappear later. Maybe one mod approved it and another deleted it?

It seems like this rule is why my post would have been deleted.

15. Starting Threads to post links to OTHER reviews on other sites and contributing nothing else material or significant is a NO NO. eg. "Hey guys! Check out the review on ABC here (link) " and ending the thread .... such threads will be deleted. However AFTER you have posted your review, it is OK to post related review links to augment your own efforts]

When I've posted other reviews in the past I was told that provided I included a summary of the content of the review it was OK to link to my dedicated review page. That's what I did this time - I posted an overview of my opinion then linked to my review, partly because of the number & size of images within the review and it wouldn't render correctly as a forum post and it appears disjointed/unprofessional (at least it does in my eyes).

Not sure why the same way of posting my information for people to read is accepted once and rejected on a different occasion?

Also, it seems like a strange rule that you can't link out to other pages. Surely you want to encourage people to come to clubsnap and post info here? Doesn't banning this kind of posting hurt the forum in the long term if you are too restrictive?

Thanks for helping to clear this up.

I am sorry but I do not make the rules here. I just enforce them. You might want to PM or email the Admins.

The rules are set up initially to prevent folks from just coming in here and not contribute much into the forum itself nor want to be part of the community, but just want to use the forum to drive traffic to their own sites. So IMHO, it is a very logical and fair rule to have. If you read through many of the threads here you will see that many people do post links in their posts.

It seems your summary looks like a one or two liner. I would encourage you to read the rule you quoted once again.

Getting your review to render properly is not that hard, since many has done it before you (myself included) and there is WYSIWYG editor available as well.

There may be a short period of time when the system lapses and you can see the thread before it was placed into pending review.

Thank you and have a good day.
