Just want to check the default diopter position. I am doing quite a bit of manual focusing, so I am making sure the diopter is not making me seeing the wrong thing! So anyone who has never touch that dial, please tell me if mine is the same or tell me what should be the correct position for "neutral".

For me, i will fix tripod then use AF to Confirm the focus on something.when the AF stops, don't press the release again.then you adjust it until you no need to strain your eye you can see sharp.there is only 2 way for the diopter.actually there is no default i think.cause we all have difference eyesight.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did something similiar to what you suggested, but I am sure there must be a setting where there is no correction done. I just want to make the setting such that this kind of correction should be done to my specs instead! It's not really practical to do the correction on the camera as there is only minor correction that can be done on the camera body.

Hopefully, I will be able to leave it to the "NEUTRAL" position.

Ha Ha,seems like your degree is getting more...from what i see you should go n check out with the optometris(is tat right??) 1st.by comfirming with him then you know if your specs is the correct degree.this is really a tough qns...still think tat there is no default. what if a customer try the Dynax 7 you are having before you?maybe he also go and adjust the diopter?Ha Ha, me also cannot ans such qns.

there is a mark on the body which look like this " - "

there is also a mark on the dial which look like this " - ".

align both together lor.

Thanks for reply ninelives,

I appreciate if you could furnish a picture of the default setting? Can't seems to find the mark on my Dynax 7 body. I know of the "-" on the dial itself but not on the body.

it was on the photo you provided. The marking is like dented, somewhere on the right of the dial.

How, have you found it?

Thanks for the concern nhyone,

I think so, it should be a dent in the body on the right hand side of the dial position. However, I think I am quite happy with the position right now ( as shown in picture) , because I have "calibrated" from a previous adjustment. The picture turns out to be quite sharp from 4R view. If it is not sharp when I enlarge it, I will move it back to the neutral position and have my eye sight checked! ;)

In fact, adjustment is easiest to do if you remove the lens first. To adjust, look through the viewfinder and turn the dial until the focus frame appears sharpest.
