But the price difference between day and night is day and night...:bsmilie:

FP, funny as ever. The rides close at 6pm. The price different is for the ride.

If the lights are on, and fountains are on ... and fireworks are on, I think got a bit to shoot. But if not, then it's all abt ppl going for dinner at the restaurants there, then ...

Before Universal studio, any nice spots in Siloso beach for sunset shots? My Hi-Tech filter "moldy" liao.

its quite easy to do, just harder to do well ;) i managed to get some ok ones the first time i tried during NDP rehearsal.

need tripod and remote to minimise camera shake. long exposure, bulb mode.
I went to ebay and looked for remotes... there's those one-button type, and many-buttons type. One-button type enough?

What kind of lens more suitable? Kit lens enough? Tele? Prime?

I dunno what is bulb mode... go home study more :hung:

Seems like it gonna be a fun outing!

But i only have my k-x with kit lens 18-55mm with me and no more other equip:embrass:
So might be hard to shoot at night?

I also only haf k-x with kit lens for the moment :sticktong

I think with tripod shd be ok la. ;) Then ISO set lowest + set dial to Aperture-priority mode (according to the heaps of text I read before, haven't personally try :bsmilie:) Tripod can buy those cheap cheap ones first or borrow from friend.

don't underestimate the 18-55 kit lens... its actually a pretty solid lens

tripod if can borrow, try to borrow first. don't buy cheap ones. waste money. :nono: u'll get fed up with it in no time and you won't be able to re-sell it for a reasonable price. end up with unwanted equipment u can't get rid of.

u can consider benro if u're looking for a reasonably good brand... or if u have $$$ can consider manfrotto or even gitzo.

Borrow from all the shifu?

for long exposure, either M mode or bulb mode better :) AV mode cannot control shutter, TV mode cannot control aperture.

Ah! ic! thanks for the enlighten:cool:

i went during the day... so i dunno whats like during the night, might be more fun in the night perhaps...

I was at US last Saturday for company outing.
By the time I left at 7.00pm, the Q was long and I can see the magic of US during the night.

Thanks for the links, WK. If it's going to be US, I'll make an earlier trip to the siloso beach. ;)

I've been to US at night before, there really isn't a lot to shoot imo. But Sentosa island itself is pretty interesting I guess?

i have a velbond monopod... but i'm not so sure abt their tripod... monopod is more basic... as long as the length ok, any brand also can :bsmilie:

also recommended to get a cheap remote control to minimize camera shake if doing long exposure.
