seems the anti-BBB virus is weak when it comes to the 35 f1.8 :bsmilie:

now i'm thinking of getting one as well

Prices have been dropping get it now!!!

I will create a thread in Land/cityscapes to post up the pics from last night.
Probably by 9+ :)

Thanks all for the tips. Got a friend to help me in this. Recovered all the lost photo and video

Cheers to all.....

To those who had attended the TCSS session (it seems to me more like poison inducing session), your tips and most importantly the sharing of your knowledge is very much appreciated. Anyone knows is there a vaccination to the BBB virus? The 50mm/f1.8 virus is seriously making me look weak now and wait, the tripod, the lenses ...... guess it's gonna be a losing battle.

Glad to have been there to help/poison

THe cheap price of the 50/1.8 pretty much guarantees that there is no effective antibody that can withstand that particular strain of BBB virus.

hahahah though it's cheap, I find myself hardly using this lens now that I have the 35/1.8

Ongoinglearner, you should try shooting at 50mm on your kit lens and see if it's a comfortable kind of focal length.
Cheap it may be, but if you don't use it, also becomes a white elephant.

Bro, it is good for half body portraits on the DX. good to shoot GF and wife with. (But don't shoot them together! You will get clash of the titans)

oh yeah hor... you do have a point :)
I remember using it in Bali... though, now I have the 35 and 85, I suspect I won't use the 50 much at all. Will see! :)
Anyway it's cheap enough that there's no point selling it.

my first fast lens (as is the case with most people) was the 50/1.8 because of the price.
Then I kept bringing it to low light places (typically indoor functions) and was frustrated by the limited angle of view on DX. Hence I was very happy to acquire the 35.

I did try the 50mm (I hope it is). Will try to do more of the 50 and 35 mm shootings with my kit lens. Just ran through some website and it seems that 50 is more for outdoor while 35 more for indoor, is it true? If so, I'll have to bring my camera to try it outdoor.

not so much outdoor/indoor, but more the working distance because of the focal length.

generally, indoor=tight working space, unless it's a banquet hall or exhibition hall.
I've used the 50/1.8 when I was backing up my friend at a wedding shoot.

On a DX camera:

35mm better for fullbody to half body portratis.
