I only take photos and destroy stuff....
dismantled my old Lumix FX-7 a few days ago, when the lens mechanism got jammed after prolonged storage... All I can say is. It works perfectly now!

Ya.. I completely removed the back panel (including the LCD's super-thin printed cable), as well as the capacitor circuitry for the flash, and got to the lens mechanism, which I gave a hard tap and twist.... hehehe
then fix everything back... swee!

I used to work in a huge printing company. Mechatronics is hybrid of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics that's all... nothing too fancy. A lot of things now are mechanical devices controlled by electronics. Think washing machine, refrigerator, microwave oven, etc.

Yup.. there is a thai express. not very far from that open air stage.

It's a whole group of restaurants called "colors by the bay", if I'm not mistaken. Quite close to the Gluttons Square makan area.

What time is sunset at the MBS these days har? Who's got the iPAD/iPhone ap to check? (coz I don't have iPhone/iPad). Since you guys are turning up at 7 I might turn up earlier to catch some lights... :bsmilie:

If you wanna shoot first, we can meet at 7 at the Esplanade Amphitheatre to shoot for about 1/2 to 3/4 hr.
Sun will be setting behind Maybank I think (can't be exactly sure :sweat
Based on sun-chart HERE, it'll be west-Northwest direction.
MBS should get some light. Can aim that way from amphitheatre.
where you planning to shoot from?

edit: I think it should be going down behind the 'durian'...

Thanks bro! Must bookmark that site. So, sunrise timing means the moment it "POPS" out of the horizon. And timing for sunset means the moment it "Pooofs!" from the sky so we have to be there at least 1/2 hour earlier to liak the "gold" right? I'm assuming I'm correct on this, just double checking. Coz yesterday's shoot, the pink clouds went off at about 7 or slightly earlier - sky still blue for short while...

The nearer the better - unless you want to work out a really serious appetite. Wait you see me hand shaking trying to beep the wireless shutter contro while suffering from hunger pang... I don't want to roll myself to Thai Express, that can be a P-R-E-T-T-Y embarrasing sight to behold... :sweat: Shoot from amphitheatre is fine, I want to see what the 10mm UW can cover from that angle anyway. :thumbsup:

Yes. that exact time is when the it pops up or dip.. So you should be shooting +- 20 mins of that time.
