Welcome to ClubSnap and the D90 users group! :)

make sure to use your camera well. If there are any questions you'd like to ask (eg. How to change ______ setting?), feel free to ask.
For DSLR and photography basics, you can ask here too, but you are quietly encouraged to do some self-reading and self-discovery.
The links that daredevil123 provided in post #419 are very handy.

You may also wish to join some of the outings to get some practical "real-world" experience... :) All the best

Anyone bringing their d90 and stuffs to take NDP fireworks?

I hate the crowds and having to set up early to wait, though I like fireworks...

Haven't taken any good fireworks with my DSLRs...

lolx.. tt's tyipcally Singaporean.. I have seen people blocking the camera when they already saw the tripod and camera setup there. These people know the camera is set to take photos yet they still don't bother and just simply squeeze in front..

what to do.... tens of thousands of people wanna see and photograph fireworks. Bound to have such situation. Unless they mark out the space and charge rental la :bsmilie: It's public space after all...

Pick a spot that is directly on the ledge (go earlier) - place your tripod on the seating area. And then see if they can walk on air or water to stand in front to block you! ;) :bsmilie:

alternatively.. secure seats in a square with family members lol!!

gives perfect coverage and perfect unobstructed view!~

LOL like how the Americans do it when they celebrate the Fourth of July! :bsmilie: But then, all the smoke and grease will find their way to your lenses.... :bsmilie: Fireworks with PLENTY of Chromatic Aberrations! Kakakaka!

Just how many of you are planning to shoot the fire works anyway? ;)

Hooray! I'm getting my D90 kit II(18-200) tomorrow. Most probably getting it from Alan Photo(funan), since they're offering $2215. So far the lowest that I've asked:D Any other store can beat the price?

this out of 15 to 20 shoot other all sucks black sky and over exposed.due to long exposure then too many fireworks. and wrong timing.

That always happens with fireworks for first timers. The more you shoot the more experienced you'll be. Expose too long, and you'll see bright smokey sky. So general rule is to open and close between 2 to 3/4 seconds - depending on what you see in the sky... Good job for a first try already!
