D90's video implementation is far from the best out there for DSLRs.
It's a nice thing to have as an added feature during holidays, etc.

That said, I've switched to a camera that has no video-capturing capability to speak of :)

 no bideo!

just to add on, you can also customize the DoF preview button to any other function (which i did), as i find it more accessible than the Fn button. that's what's great about having the option to customize these two buttons according to your own preferences. :)

Bro, I have searched the menu but can't find the option. How do I customize the DoF preview button?

yeah just read through the downloadable manual.
No mention about being able to program the DOF preview button. Only function "f3: assign Fn button" is available.

I know it is doable on the d300s and d700. Not sure if it is doable on the d90.

Unless Pasay already upgraded from his D90 and assumed D90 can also do it.... kakakaka... Pasay, your secret is out... :bsmilie: Otherwise, do let us know how you program your DOF but...

Another question, is it possible to rename all your filenames to your own liking on D90... E.g. Larry0090.jpg etc etc? I don't think can right?

Waaaaa did he buy LX3 or P7000 also?

hmmm, as far as I know it can't be done.
I wish it could be customised as well, but I suppose it's not such a big necessity.

Your LX3 can do it though.

Sorry to break some of your discussions here bros.
Have a equipment issue here that need you help, if you know.

From my recent D90 images I notice a brightly lit red pixel on a localized spot, it is more prominent whenever the image exposure is towards the darker region(when pixel peeping).

Doesn't affect normal viewing but just checking:
1) anyone encounter this before, is it simply a dust on sensor that can be cleaned away or is it really dead pixel? I tried the built-in sensor clean to no avail
2) Body still under NSC warranty, but I am concerned about complexity of repair that it could leave some after-effects, since it doesn't affect overall image now(it bugs me somehow).

I'm getting more advises before deciding if it's worth utilizing the warranty repair.
Thanks.

I think it's known as a hotspot.
If camera under warranty, just bring to NSC and they will do a 'remap'. Problem solved :)

So this "hotspot" is actually reversible?
Different from dead pixel which I assume is gone case?

If so that could be good news to me.
Any idea what's the repair complexity like for this remap?

Not reversible. But NSC will remap the link so that pixel will not be considered when rendering the image.

I see. Sounds like a difficult process.
Maybe gotta try my luck before the warranty runs out.
Thanks folks for the advise.
