D90 User Group (V)

I need to find my D90 first though... ;)

Dunno if my LX3 has this feature.... hmmmm

I have LX3 too.. sorry no such function on it. Go get a D90 which is fun (compared to my FE which I bought in the 80s...hehehe). Yes you are correct there is no such function as HDR on D90 also but if you overlay a few images, you get the effect. I am not sure how it is compared to the real thing that you PP. I like to know some who tried and see what is the result. For me it is acceptable and very happy with the adjustment. You would have to adjust the percentage of overlap. Oh yes, you can even overlay 10 images but 2 at a time. Saved overlay images can be used as base also... you need to have a feel. Like anything else..practice is the secret.

anyone using a SDHC class 10 memory card on D90? :D

yup, wondering if there's anyone who used class 10. does it increase the rate when shooting raw, better buffer too?

i used transcend class 10 b4... after i change to sandisk 45mb/s & 30mb/s.. its load much faster... and i can burst longer with no lag..

you have? ;)

any performance benefit?
Was thinking of getting one but not sure if there would be any competability issue when a SDHC class 10 card is used on D90.

I understand that on papers D90 can't support SDXC but there are some who tried and it worked.

The buffer depends on the camera too. Not too sure how it works thou.

Seems that D90 has no problem with class 10 cards?

Looking at the specs, sandisk class 4 rated at 15mb/s is faster than Kingston class 10 rated at 10mb/s.

if u wan to get class 10.. get atleast sandisk extreme the 30mb/s IT having sales... good deal 16gb 30mb/s only $52... coz i tried class trancend class 10 its like.. no different

eh but for a class 4 rated at 15mb/s means that the minimum speed is 4mb/s and maximum is 15mb/s?

I tried a class 10 32GB that my friend purchased fr me at ebay. Only marginally improved on the buffer. It could be due to the performance of the system of the D90

thanks guys! should be making my purchase later. :D

I used the the older D80 and moved to this D90 about a year or so ago, and it's been pretty fine, apart from the colors having a generally cooler appearance and I preferred the exposure that the D80 gave.

I spoke to someone at NSC recently, and we talked about upgrading to the D7000. He then looked at me and said "keep the D90", it seems that it is the most trouble free of the mid-range DSLRs, they produced in recent times. Seems they had a few headaches with the newer D7000. Thought all D90 users should know...

Cheers.

If you think D90 is cooler than D80, you should know that using the same image setting...D7000 maybe even cooler! ;) But that's just software processing suppose... Oh yeah, I'm a happy D90 user alright.

Hey was wonder if anyone tried to fix a 2x or 1.5x teleconverter onto a 50mm f/1.8 lens?
What would be the result???

As I don't think I can afford a 85mm f/1.8

The result would be the lens aperture will reduce accordingly... 2x means f/3.6 (no longer f/1.8) plus the image will degrade.

Teleconverter also not cheap.
If you're referring to the AF 85/1.8D, my personal experience is that if you are taking head-shoulder shots with this lens and D90, even wide-open the bokeh is a bit annoying due to its hexagonal nature. Something to ponder over.
