Can carry:

think for me the purpose of getting a speedlight is to do fill flash, light up ambiance and also to boost SS when lighting not strong enough to get rid of motion blur. any comments?

Yes if you are using Auto mode. If you use TTL or any other mode. You will have to judge it yourself. I would suggest you play around with it to see which set of light you would prefer.

Yes like what you mention, logically it should be used as fill light, limited area to light up ambiance unless you got lots of flash light to spare. It does not necessary blurr motion. It could also create blurr motion. It can do lots of wonder depending on how creative you are and how well you understand how light travel etc.

TTL = auto

Flash and camera communicate and flash power adjusts according to camera's metering.
To increase or reduce flash power in TTL mode, adjust "flash EV", which has a lightning symbol and the plus/minus symbol together.

crumpler only looks nice...but...
coming from a personal experience, the shoulder pad is not well-cushioned enough if u hv ur gears in, it will cause a strain on ur shoulder.
the inserts inside r suckers for moisture, not practical for our humid weather

I have resorted to using those 'car seatbelt' cushions sometimes for my 5MDH. Wish the strap was better.

i dont own crumpler 5mdh, but i own a sling bag called the soupnsalad. i carried it around during my poly days and i always sling across my body. i realised the big buckle for the strap will always rub against your clothes and cause furring.. so beware! but i doubt 5mdh users will sling across their body lah. (unless during shooting itself when u cant put your bag down?)

Always prepare for the worse.... What if you're standing on a wide area of mud and dirt and you're surrounded by many people? Too many situations that I would never put it on the ground of where I stand.

What is Flash Auto mode?

With the automatic mode, a user provides the flash with an aperture and ISO value for correct exposure. Then, the camera triggers the flash, which uses its on-board flash sensor to measure the scene illumination and cut off its power when the scene illumination becomes sufficient based on the given aperture and ISO settings. Thus, the illumination measurement of the flash is independent of the camera light meter.

does that means that those usual flash that we use are considered as auto-flash which can operate in TTL or non-TTL mode? at the same time, it can also operate when we change to manual mode dial in the camera?
