oh ya, speaking of depth of field...

i can't seems to see any differences with that button pressed...
any bro can show me the steps to see the difference in the depth of field by using this function
try DOF for F2.8 and F11 or more.
You will get to see sharper and darker viewfinder.

hmm... what are the steps?

select F3.5, half click to focus, then release half click
then select F22, then click depth or field?

Since D90 vf is a little small, the effect not as obvious.. but is most obvious when zoomed, aiming at an area with a large depth in foreground and background (row of batteries for example). Set your aperture to f22 and press the DOF Preview. You will notice the viewfinder darken and the area in focus wider.

oh, so does that means the depth of field button only stop down the aperture from big aperture to small aperture (ie F3.5 --> F22) and not the other way round, and that if u release the button, it goes back to large aperture again (ie F3.5)?

When you mount the lens, it is always at it's brightest aperture so the camera system can meter and AF.. so technically you can only stop down..
