This test is different from the rest: I used the RWS building as a stationery point... the differences of wideness are expressed on the right side of the images.

hehehe you know I was joking hor...? I think the difference in wide-ness is most noticeable when you have a more confined space, like the MBS Shoppes.

Check out test2, I took them so you only need to see the differences (if you add up both sides) on the right side... quite a huge chunk...

Well, if you want to upgrade, there is still the sigma 10-20 or Tamron 10-24... Is the price that big a difference from 12-24? I dunno as I haven't looked hard enough at third parties. These two were recommended for landscape photographers in one of the recent mags put out by Digital SLR...
Or we can do the Markins dance for you? :bsmilie:

The base plate is slimmer (verticle sides, versus E's sloped sides). And the tightening knob for the Arca Swiss plate is shorter - doesn't protrude...
Personally I like the look of Q3E's sloped base - the markers are nicer. But in terms of pratically, T model fits the ball-head base plate that came with Sirui's tripods - no excessive over-hangs... I guess Q3T fits my tripod better, especially when you reverse fold...

Notice how the base fits Sirui's ball-head base plate? Q3E will be slightly more (in terms of overhang). But still acceptable lah!
Haven't taken an image of how it looks like when the tripod is reverse folded. But it is as compact as hell especially when you use the short center column (more light weight due to reduced column)... Your model does have one right?

Yup it does have a short center column. But short center column has a con, to forgo the hook to hook bags to improve stability.
From the pic, you're a real sunchaser eh?? Haha
