d90 or d7000?

I think most of the people in this thread knows how to appreciate both D90 and D7000 by the comments earlier on.

All camera "can make it", but with the latest technology offered to us most would heed the advice on acquiring the latest equipment because it would not the specs or would not be outdated so soon.

I am still using a D90, loyal to it till the day of FX =)

What is "outdated"? A piece of equipment is only outdated when we feel it does not meet our needs anymore in face of new technology. So in the end it is "us" that matters. Most of us are conditioned to think that things are not good enough anymore when the next model comes out.

That said, D90 is an awesome camera. Just barely 3 years ago, people are shouting to me "you gotta check out the D90! The ISO performance is unbelievable!!!". LOL.

There will always be a new Rebel camera next year, a new nikon body every two years, a new iphone next year. It never ends. Not trying to dissuade anyone anyone from buying new equipment. And there is nothing wrong to get the newest and the best. I lust for these things at times too. But just an observation. ;P

A video for us all... ;)

well there are tons of D7000's on the BnS nowadays. The price different between the d90 and the d7000 second hand is about 500 bucks. I say save, get the d7000. You'll never regret it.

Of course D90 better lah!!! *You trust me???*

hahaha true also... but with the 500 maybe can get some lens? hmm

go for D7000 worth for it...
I tried D90 before snap is slower on focus as well... got budget get D7000 or installment.... Cheers!

I would vote for D7000!
Cheers! :D

This is what I'd call a "no-brainer" -- if you have the budget go get the D7000; it is better than the D90 in every way. Now, whether you know how to make the most out of that camera, or are able to appreciate the fine differences, no one knows.

To me, most of the newer cameras are more than "good enough" -- there are other things worthwhile looking into: lenses, technique, post-processing, etc.

I own a D90 and tried a D7000, if you have afford it just get the 7000.

I thought of getting D7000 as well. In the end got a D90 body and save the rest for lenses :)

Sorry ot a bit, Was considering bet d7k and d300s, went to test both of them. Yes I knw many will recommend due to it specs, imho, it still boil down to each individuals. After gripping and handling both bodies, I still prefer the d300s feel; it just feel different. (considering was using a d80 for few years, but somewhat limited by the iso and iq), so next sensible dx upgrade will be these 3 models.
But another factor, price. considering the roughly, price d7k is 1.7k, d300s is 1.8k, d90 is 1.1k . So the choice was clear for me. :)

So my advise to TS; go for something that suit ur own needs, and of course, friendly for your pocket. Both d90 and d7k, imho are not wrong choice. :)

If you dont mind the 2nd hand market, the d90 can be yours for as low as 700SGD if you know how to bargain. I got mine at 740. =x using it with my fave 24mm now. Dont feel like i need anything more (as a amateur).
