If the warranty policy did not change
Only Singapore sets are covered by Nikon Singapore

Just make sure you test the left Af - if it's issue free, your call...

I would consider the time and effort taken to go down to Jb itself

Nikon Bodies do not have international warranty. So if you buy from Malaysia, for warranty, you'll have to go to Nikon service centre in Malaysia.

It is not always possible to test all 51 AF points and know for sure if there are AF in a shop environment and what would you do when you are not allowed to test all units/tested all units and all have AF issues?

For the D800/E I would suggest that you save the trouble and buy from SG with warranty so that if you have AF issues, you can get it fixed and collected. It is 12 + 3 months warranty.

What else are you expecting?

Thanks all for the inputs and sharing.
Yes, for the AF issues, it is wiser to buy it in SG.

Am very impressed by all the D800E images shared in this thread. Love the dynamic range :-)

Dear all,

I was a D7000 user. When i was using the Live View of D7000, the brightness of the scene on the LCD will change according to the exposure compensation that i dialed in.
When i am using the LV of D800, no matter how i adjust the exp compensation, the scene brightness on LCD does not change. The photos taken with LV do respond according to the exp compensation though.
Is there any adjustment in the setting i need to make to activate the real-time response of LCD brightness according to exp compensation?
Thanks in advance for your advice ;)

Hi bros, just manage to lay my hands on a D800e. looking around for the CF cards. Noticed that the manual indicated example professional series 133x, 400x, 600x and 1000x cards are approved cards by Nikon USA. But differs slightly from what the manual had mentioned 133x, 400x, 600 only.

Saw one other CF card 800x at a reasonable priced. They are all UDMA 7 compatible. Anyone tried it before? Nikon responded that they cannot guraantee items not listed in the website/manual. Though that their product support would have periodically test and update users on the various cards compatible.

Any other reliable resources for a second opinion? Thanks in advance.

Used a Lexar 1000x cf card in my d800e. No probs. Try not to go above 32gb though, another friend who use a d800 had some issues reportedly with a SanDisk 64gb extreme cf.

Yes. Many brudders here using 1000x lexar 32GB
Get from bhp or adorama during their sale period. 2 pcs bundle cheaper.

Suggest to stick to the brands in nikon's list. I had problems with Kingston and transcend.

I only trust Kingston for it's RAM chips but not their CF. Transcend is a flop. I encounter twice on their CF card failure. Went down to Memory World n had it replace but lost photos is GG. Since then, I only use Scandisk or Lexar. So far so good for both their CF n SD.

Looking at this pic makes me very angry at the haze now!

Thanks, this image is like a breadth of fresh air!

Hahaha! Maybe I should reshoot this scene in the haze...the buildings should look like towers in the mist, or perhaps you can't even see them!

Appreciate D800e users.. Let the pictures do the talking..

Any D800 / D800e user who do macro?

Thinking of replacing my D300s for my macro shooting. But cannot decide between D800 or D600. Thus appreciate if any "macro shooter" here can provide me with some advise. Maybe some macro photo too. Tks!
