Better verify and confirm yourself. I have reported the issue to them but they just ignored and replied it was fixed. So i sent it twice and it was only fixed after talking to the technician directly.

Yeah I had friends who sent it in when the problem was first detected. They sent the body in and was told after a day or two that it was fixed. Unfortunately it was not or they had just put in some lens calibration values.

Now it took 2 weeks and every thing is perfect.

The left side focusing issues only affected the first batch of D800/E bodies.

D800 in Ikelite Housing.

Tokina 10-17mm DX FE zoom used as FX lens at 16mm

AFD 60mm Micro Nikkor and Kenko 1.4x TC

Traveling on work now, no time to post 100% crop.

Fast AF and beautiful colour rendering. Much better than my old D300. A match for colour with the Fujifilm S2Pro, but much faster in response and higher resolution.

hmmm... in Buy/Sell, there's one unit on offer for around this price and it is a used unit from Malaysia too.

I have sent in my D800 on this Wednesday and got it back on Thursday. (So is only 1/2 day) But this is 2nd time for fine back focus adjustment.

I think the shape a bit different and buttons also slightly stiff and of course price big different but in the end I still prefer the original.

Original is 4x of 3rd party price. That's the main reason why majority picked the 3rd party.

Physically wise, there's some slight difference. Firstly the original is less bulkier so when mounted, it will make your D800/E less elongated (vertically). This means that it will be closer to the D4/D3 etc series. When the grip is closer, it makes the center of gravity closer to the body itself and it's nicer to hold, especially when using heavy telephoto lens.

The rubber grip itself is also of a more comfortable material, same as the D800/E body. Also note the third party's grip isn't fully rubber gasket-ed. The original is made weather-sealed.

Of course I still consider the MB-D12 ridiculously heavy. But when comfort and weather sealing is concerned, I've no choice but to pick the original.

D700/800(E) with MB-D10/12 is actually a bit larger than D3 and D4 series. $500 for a battery grip is quite ridiculous but people are paying $1000 for a Mamiya 645D grip, $9000 for a Hassy T/S adaptor.

Any brothers for using Cf adaptor from sd to cf using in that slot or not. Getting my D800 tomorrow is still indecisive whether to get cf or not cause transfer pictures troublesome.
