All, just bought scan disk Extreme Pro CF card from amazon, when I insert it to D800, it shows Card Err, anyone has any idea?

If no photos on it try format it in camera... then may be ok ??? see how.

Format card on PC and try again. If it was a CF, look inside the card compartment in the camera to make sure you didn't bend any pins when you inserted the card for the first time. One has to be a bit more careful with CF than with SD.

I'm currently using a compactflash Lexar Pro 400x 64Gb but want to get an SD card as well

SD card if limits the speed for Sandisk extreme pro / lexar 600x

If wanna more fast, I would prefer you get the lexar 1000x CF card

Sandisk 32gb 45mb/s
Until big trip appear then I will grab some cf cards for the pair

If you're not on USB 3.0 and not filling the buffer then 45mb/s is more than enough

I have a new Macbook Pro Retina and I'm trying to transfer images from my D800 to the laptop but after 15 or 20 pictures the transfer stops saying there was an error during the transfer, I've tried several times using Nikon View NX2 software and iPhoto up but the result is always the same, any ideas?? Has anyone experienced the same issue? Do you think this is a laptop issue, OS issue or maybe camera issue?

I'm transferring the photos using the USB 3.0 port,

Sounds like a defective card

Try connecting the use straight to the camera and see of its the USB reader's fault

Use the cable supplied w the camera just to make sure the issue is eliminated

Hehe been enjoying the lens since I got it. I don't regret getting it. One store was selling brand new non-vr set but I didnt ask the price.

It's probably the card reader in your MBP. I had the same problem with mine. This is apparently a common problem with the MBP reading faster SD cards. Try hooking up your camera directly via the supplied USB cable.
