Either you choose as backup copy for both card,
Or single file format, or Raw + Jpeg in different card.

Hi guys no problem with that. If you want Raw on CF and jpeg on SD. Go to SHOOTING MENU and select your Primary card as CF and SD as Secondary, then you move down to Secondary Slot Function and select Raw+jpeg. If you read it says RAW primary, JPEG secondary.. and you got it, Raw on CF and JPEG on SD. If you want it the other way then change the primary card to the one you want RAW on. but you must have cards in both slots. Cheers..

Thank your explanation..
I would try it up :D

No one can help?

Hi D800 user, anyone use Phottix BG-D800 or Pixel Vertax D12 battery grip??
I found some forum the conclusion is Pixel better than Phottix, anyone got different comment?
Thanks for your advise. :D

I am using pixel, and compared with the phottix version that my friend bought. Still prefer the built and handling of the pixel. Every part is solidly built, even when u put in AA battery in the tray, there's a very nice firm click and lock feel.

Bingo. That's what I have been doing. Works so far so good. But just be careful, the card recording RAW will fill up faster than the JPEG one. So I think u may miss the RAW files if u continue to shoot after RAW card gets filled (haven't encountered this before, but I think may be potentials issue)

If any of the cards is FULL the shutter will freeze, you will not be able to take any more photos and the FULL will be flashing on th top LCD. As for myself I am using 128gb for Raw and 64gb for Jpeg.

Regards..

Tried but still cant.
I only shoot one file type at any one time.
The file will not be seperated into Raw to cf and SD when I shoot Jpeg.
Something wrong with my software?

Actururss and rain5533, in the Shooting Menu / Image Quality you have to select RAW+FINE or RAW+NORMAL or RAW+BASIC.

I see. But at 128gb raw/64gb jpeg, the raw card will still fill up faster than jpeg right? So u just pop another card for the raw?

Yes, just pop another card for Raw. If you don't have a card handy you can change "Shooting Menu / Secondary Slot Function" to "Overflow" now both Raw & Jpeg will be saved on the same card till you replace the full card and reset the Secondary Slot Function to Primary Raw + Secondary Jpeg.

New report from D800 user here..

Wondering why my Raw files resolution are so low, approx. 1000++ pixel. I've set to FX mode and was using FX lens and it's suppose to be full resolution (4000++ pixel). This applies when I shoot Raw. Shooting in Large setting for Fine JPEG is fine, which is 4000++ pixel. Any idea what's the settings went wrong here?

Raw has no size limitation... Check the export settings of your raw convertor or software.

Yeah! I would thought so too but the Raw file itself is very low resolution. I can't zoom in further to look at the detail and the pixel got blur (after I zoom in a few times). This is weird.

Sounds like whatever software you are using is only reading the embedded thumbnail and not the full image.

Try to used NX capture 2
