Anyways, just following this thread, what is the price of a D80 body only normally ? I inquired in Taiwan a couple of weeks ago and got quoted like S$870 for the body alone at this shop. Obviously grey set without warranty from Nikon.... but is this a good price ? Tempted to get rid of my D40x and top up for this man......

the price has dropped so much that i think D80 owners will feel very heart pain when selling it...wonder how much the body can fetch in Dec 08, $500? :dunno:
PS: planning to buy a new body in Dec 08.

Have to search a bit.... Last I saw, TCW was selling the D200 still, but I cant remember the price..... S$1300+ ?

I think there is won't be a need to sell their D80 anymore since the price has fallen so much.
D80 owners now just have to upgrade to D300 and keep the D80.
D80 is still a good camera for walk around and maybe save it for their children.

Thanks! By the way, the guy in MS Color told me that D90 is coming near year end. Dunno the price of D80 will drop further or not... But i personally think any price below 1400 is good enough. I heard they are selling it at RM3300 in malaysia.

I bought my D200 from Cathay Photo in Marina Square in June 2008. They might still have stock. They wanted to clear stock that time, so I got it very cheap. U can call them and ask.

this is because if you do not need the extra features like the video mode in the D90 then yeah u should as it is a rather great camera furthermore with its price reduction u may consider:thumbsup:
it would sure drop further when D90 arrives as shops need to clear space to welcome new 'VIPS' :bsmilie:

fact of the matter is when D80 came out 2yrs ago, i can't find any reason for upgrade liao. becos all the functions serves all the purposes i need.
then D300 shows that liveview, AF-tuning, 51 pts AF etc can make a difference. otherwise for most people, the D80 is more than enough for most situations.
so those who are not hardware pimp, you might find the current prices very attractive to even get it as a 2nd body.
